Methodology

How Trajectory reaches a recommendation.

Trajectory is a planning tool. It does not predict a person's future, guarantee employment or determine eligibility for a role.

BETA METHODOLOGY • VERSION 1

The current calculation

The present MVP uses structured, deterministic rules. It combines the information entered by the user with broad assumptions about education, starting position and career area. It does not currently use live vacancy data or a trained predictive model.

01

Profile context

Education, career area, current position, time and stated goals establish the starting point.

02

Scenario assumptions

The beta applies transparent rules to create current-path, focused-growth and alternative-route planning ranges.

03

Role reasoning

Roles are shortlisted using field relevance, interests, work preferences, evidence and barriers collected by the guided coach.

04

Action design

Roadmaps prioritise demonstrable skills, practical projects, employer conversations and regular evidence-based reviews.

!

Interpret ranges as scenarios, not forecasts.

Actual outcomes depend on location, economic conditions, individual performance, employer decisions, experience and factors the tool cannot observe. Users should verify important decisions using current job descriptions, official career information and qualified advisers.

Planned data standard

Every future data point should show its source and date.

A production version should combine official labour statistics, trusted career profiles, live vacancies, public-sector pay scales and relevant professional bodies. The interface will distinguish sourced facts, calculated estimates and AI-generated suggestions.
